Immigrant Readers Feeling at Home in the Library

Ways to Engage Immigrant Readers
First, make sure that immigrant readers are aware that book clubs are "for them." Promotional flyers and online announcements advertising book clubs might stress that the readers who have read the chosen book in translation are also welcome to join the discussion. Flyers might be produced in languages other than English as well, if you have the resources to manage this.

Consider extending your outreach through ethnic community institutions — educational establishments, or cultural clubs, for example. The goals of and activities in public libraries and ethnic organizations are often complementary, so there is a good chance for cooperation and collaboration. (read more here...)
